Hazzard Announces A £95,000 Road Improvement Scheme In Killinchy

Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard has welcomed the start of a £95,000 improvement scheme at Main Street and Ardview Park, Killinchy.

dn_screen2Preparatory work is underway and resurfacing is due to start during the week commencing Monday 20 June 2016. The resurfacing scheme is expected to be substantially completed by the end of June.

Minister Hazzard said: “This scheme will greatly improve the strength, shape and surface quality of a 565metre section of carriageway and footway in the centre of Killinchy village.’’

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will be necessary to operate temporary traffic signals during the course of the improvements.

Local access will be maintained and all diversions and restrictions will be clearly sign posted.

As with all improvement schemes of this type severe weather may impact on the planned dates. Transport NI will keep the public informed of any change.

Drivers should expect some delays and are advised to leave additional time when travelling in the area.
