Hazzard Angered At Building Waste Dumped In Killough

South Down MLA Chris Hazzard (Sinn Féin) has this week inspected a sizeable amount of rubble dumped at the side of the Shore Road in Killough following work to the sea wall.

The local MLA said: “There were necessary repairs to the shore wall last year, however, instead of the clean-up we would expect following a public works scheme, construction rubble and traffic signs appear to have been literally dumped by the roadside.

“Bearing in mind we are all playing a role in developing South Down’s tourism potential it is astounding that a statutory agency would dump an eyesore like this at the side of a popular coastal path.

“I have written to Transport NI to let them know that this is totally unacceptable. I expect this mess to be removed as soon as possible,”  added Mr Hazzard.
