Harte Condemns Attack On Car In Newry

Vehicle Trashed And  Items Stolen From It By Heartless Thieves Say Sinn Féin.

Newry City Councillor Valerie Harte has said that those involved in the vandalising of a car and subsequent theft of items from it were “heartless”.

The Sinn Féin elected representative made her comments after speaking to family members of the victim, and said: “I have just  spoken with the mother of a young man from  O’Neill Avenue here in Newry who has been left traumatised after discovering that his car had been broken into last night and trashed and items stolen from it“.

“This young man had only started a new job yesterday and to go out to find that this had happened this morning is deplorable.

Once again a community has been violated by heartless thieves, we don’t need these acts of wanton vandalism in our communities”.

Cllr Harte added: “The Ballinacraig Community Associationxa0have spoken with the PSNI and have been xa0assured that patrols will be stepped up in the area. I would also appeal for all residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity”.
