Hanlon Says Closing Date For Gaeltacht Grant Is Close

Oonagh Hanlon, Sinn Fein local election candidate for Downpatrick, is reminding people to apply for for Liofa Gaeltacht scheme.

She said: “Students who are planning to attend Gaeltacht this year should note thatthe Liofa bursary closing date is Tuesday 5xa0March if they haven’t already applied.

“The Department for Communities’ (DfC) Liofa Gaeltacht Bursary Scheme provides funding to allow 100 people a year to attend Irish language classes in the Donegal gaeltacht.

“Demand for the bursary is high, so preference is given to those who have not previously received a bursary and meet the qualifying criteria.

“Application forms for the scheme, which closes on 5 March 5, can be downloaded from the Liofa website at:
