Guided Tours Help Visitors Experience Ards and North Down

dn_screenVisitors to Ards and North Down can experience the best that the borough has to offer by taking one of the guided walking or coach tours organised by Ards and North Down Borough Council.

The Experience Ards and North Down 2016 tour programme kicks off this month (April 2016) with an exciting new tour, ‘Woodland & Whiskey’. The excursion combines a guided walk along emerging new trails in the estate farmland at Mount Stewart with a fascinating visit to the recently opened Echlinville Distillery to see the fine art of whiskey making.

Also this month, visitors can join the Dawn Chorus Walk with bird expert Dot Blakely for an early morning master class in how to recognise the songs of local birds.

The Council’s unique series of coach, boat and walking tours allow visitors to experience some of the wonderful sights and attractions the area has to offer, according to Deputy Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Carl McClean.

He said: “Drawing on the local knowledge of our experienced team of guides, we invite visitors and locals alike to tap into a wealth of heritage, history and culture in scenic surroundings that resound with historical significance. You can sit back and relax on a coach trip to one of the borough’s beautiful stately homes, find out more on an historical walk or take to the water on a boat trip down Strangford Lough. Experience Ards and North Down Tours have something for everyone.”

The Woodlands and Whiskey tour takes place on Saturday 23 April from 10.00am until 3.30pm. The Dawn Chorus Walk takes place on Saturday 23 or Saturday 30 April from 5am until 8am. Full details of all our tours can be found at visitardsandnorthdown.com.
