Gribben Meets DRD Minister Over Leitrim Roads

[/caption] Sinn Féin’s candidate for Dromore xa0Paul Gribben, met recently with the North’s Regional Development Minister, Conor Murphy, in a bid to get improvements carried out to the rural road network around Leitrim and Finnis. Mr Gribben explained: “The Leitrim area was badly affected by the prolonged spell of very cold weather that blanketed the area in snow for weeks last December. “Many rural roads have suffered damaged as a result with large pot holes pock mocking surfaces and placing motorists at considerable risk. “When I met Minister Murphy, I brought to his attention a number of examples that illustrate the deterioration of our local roads network. Rural communities face many challenges and it is important people are able to travel safety. “I will also continue to lobby Roads Service for the installation of a footpath on the Backaderry Road, from the shop to the GAA ground. This route is used by many people travelling to matches and training and young people are being placed at considerable risk when out walking. ]]>
