Go For It In 2019

Go For It—Take the First Step into Business in 2019.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council is urging local would-be entrepreneurs thinking about starting a business as their New Year’s resolution to take that first step, with the support of the Go For It Programme.

The project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin said, The new year is a key time when people begin to think strongly about pursuing the dream of being their own boss or going self-employed.

“All great businesses start somewhere. We would encourage anyone who has an idea to take that leap of faith in 2019 and change their life with the help of the Go For It Programme.

“The Go For It Programme offers expert mentoring in the challenges of starting your own business, including financial and business planning, accessing funding, and best practise to help build the foundations for a sustainable business model.

“So if you’re thinking about starting a business, we have a team of experienced mentors who come from our network of enterprise agencies. They are fully equipped to provide expert advice and support and will explain how the Go For It Programme can help you create a plan for your business.”

The Go For It programme is delivered free of charge by a team of experienced business mentors through Northern Ireland’s wide network of enterprise agencies. It provides expert advice on everything from accounts to marketing and business growth. The advisors can help would-be first time entrepreneurs with developing a robust business plan to help turn their ideas into a commercial enterprise.

In the Newry Mourne and Down District Council area, over 350 business plans have been completed through the Go For It programme since the programme began at the end of 2017.
