Glasdrumman GAC Notes For 18 June 2017

Glasdrumman seniors met with our neighbours xa0Attical on Friday at home. The first half was a lacklustre affair and did not reflect the pace and energy expected at a local derby. We went on to the changing rooms one point up and after a few words of wisdom from Jim, Raymond and Gerard the game soon picked up the speed and energy required when you “Invite the neighbours over”. Final score Glasdrumman 0.15 to Attical 1.05.

Good luck to Connaire Harrison and the rest of the Down panel for the Ulster semi -final game against Monaghan
The Eire og u-12s had a fantastic win over neighbouring Longstone on Sunday morning with a score line of 6-13 to 3 points. This was undoubtedly the best performance of the league campaign to date with every Eire Óg player being in contention for player of the match!
Training continues on a Thursday evening from 6.45 until 7.45 at the quarter road.
The u-14s took part in the Atticall u-14 sevens tournament and what a day they had. They came through the qualifying stages and were placed in the shield competition. They then faced Rostrevor in the quarter finals where they had a nervy win, they then faced St. Paul’s who were very strong but the Eire Ógs won convincingly placing them in the final against Mayobridge. That was to be the end of the road for the xa0team s who just found Mayobridge too strong and deserved winners. A great effort from the Eire Ógs all day though! Well done boys!!!!!!
Thanks to Vincey who stepped in at the last minute to help mentor the boys.
