Glasdrumman GAC Notes 9/2/2014


Well done to  Antaine, Donna and Declan  our ballad group who gave a great account of themselves in the Scor Sinsir South Down final on Sunday in St.Mark’s   Warrenpoint . The group will not progresss to the County Final but have laid a  great foundation for future competitions writes Tony Bannon.

Thanks to Annette  for driving the Minibus for us.  Go raibh  maith agaibh go leir to all who  supported the group on Sunday. It was appreciated greatly. In his closing remarks South Down Chairman Michael Mc Ardle once again thanked Glasdrumman for hosting one of the semi-finals.dn_screen

Underage Registration on Sunday 16th February at 3pm in the clubrooms. Anyone interested in mentoring or helping with underage teams please contact any committee member beforeSunday 16th if possible so that mentors for the incoming season are all in place as soon as possible. Senior training starts on Monday 17th February at the pitch commencing at 7:30pm. All players are asked to be at the pitch for 7:15.

Down draw tickets still available from any committee members. Please consider buying one to support the club. Dinner dance in the Burrendale Hotel on Friday 21 February. Please order your tickets from any committee member in good time. Price £25.  Guest speakers for the evening Irish News editor  Noel doran, editor of the Irish News,  and who has strong connections with the Club  and our very own Celebrity Bainisteoir Mr. Derek Davies wil be there.

Congratulations from everyone at the club to our senior team manager Emmett Devlin and his wife Michelle on the recent birth of their baby son Connall.

Congratulations to Shane and Connaire and the rest of the Down senior squad on their hard fought victory over Armagh in atrocious conditions on Friday night.
