Giants Leave It Late To Stun Dundee Stars.

The Stena Line Belfast Giants returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home win on Friday over the Dundee Stars. Goals from Mark Garside and Kyle Baun earned the Giants a first Elite League win of the season.

Both sides will go toe-to-toe again on Saturday when the Stars host the Giants at the Dundee Ice Arena and they will be seeking to make amends for their defeat in Belfast. Tyler Beskorowany started in the Giants net with Francis Beauvillier, Matt Towe and Andrew Dickson all missing for the hosts.
The visitors took an early lead in Belfast when Matt Marquardt slid the puck past Beskorowany at 4:30, assisted by Brian Hart and Lukas Lundvald Nielsen. Thenxa0Mark Garside posted the equalising goal right at the end of the middle period. Garside’s shot took a deflection on its way into the Stars net at 38:55.
The Giants final period pressure paid off at 56:19 when Kyle Baun redirected Guillaume Gelinas’ shot low into the Dundee goal putting the Giants into a one point lead.

The Giants travel to face the Dundee Stars away on Saturday, face-off 7pm. Next up at home is back-to-back games in Belfast against the Milton Keynes Lightning on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October. Both games face-off 7pm at The SSE Arena.
