Giants Defeated By Glasgow Comeback

The Stena Line Belfast Giants fell to a 4-2 defeat on Saturday night in Glasgow. Three Clan goals in the final period saw the Giants fall to their first loss in four games.
Despite Saturday’s result, the Belfast side remain in first place with two points ahead of the Cardiff Devils.
Tyler Beskorowany started in the Giants net with Belfast missing Pat Dwyer, Francis Beauvillier, Colin Shields, Jonathan Boxill, Matt Towe, Paul Swindlehurst and Andrew Dickson.
The Belfast Giants suffered a narrow defeat against Glasgow Clan but still remain top of the league.

 

Former Giants forward Craig Peacock opened the scoring in Glasgow with an unassisted wraparound attempt at 15:18.

Hunter Bishop’s strike at 26:41, unassisted, brought the visitors level before Darcy Murphy, assisted by David Rutherford, edged the Giants in front at 36:25.
But Clan fired up with three goals in the final period as Peacock doubled his tally on the night at 43:04 with another unassisted goal and then Zack Fitzgerald grabbed the go-ahead goal for the Clan at 50:32.
Travis Ehrhardt secured the win for the home side at 18:51 with an empty net finish, assisted by Rasmus Bjerrum.
