Galbraith says families left in the dark over NI Water communication failures
SDLP Downpatrick Councillor Conor Galbraith has raised serious concerns about communication failures between NI Water and its contractors, warning that poor coordination is leaving families facing unnecessary stress.

Councillor Galbraith said he has been contacted by a number of residents struggling with drainage and flooding issues outside their homes. In many cases, the lack of clear information from NI Water has caused confusion and delay in getting problems resolved.
Councillor Conor Galbraith added: “Families shouldn’t be left in the dark when it comes to essential services like water and drainage.
“When communication breaks down, it’s local people who pay the price, often with flooding outside their homes, disruption to their daily lives, and unnecessary worry.
“We all understand that problems can take time to resolve, but what residents cannot accept is being left in the dark.
“People want to know that their concerns are being taken seriously, that the right repairs are being carried out, and that someone is taking responsibility.
“The SDLP has always stood for fairness, accountability and better standards in public services. I will continue to press to ensure that local families get the services they need and deserve.”
