Fountain Street In Downpatrick To Be Resurfaced

dn_screenTransport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that work on the resurfacing of Fountain Street in Downpatrick is due to start on Monday 28 July 2014.

The scheme will involve the resurfacing of Fountain Street, Downpatrick over its full length of 230 metres.

To facilitate the resurfacing work Fountain Street will be closed on Wednesday 30 July and from:

xa0Wednesday 20 August to Friday 22 August 2014. xa0All road closures will be from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

Danny Kennedy said: “This £85,000 scheme represents a significant investment in the roads infrastructure within Downpatrick. Once work is complete, road users will quickly realise the long-term benefits from the new road surface on Fountain Street.”

DRD aims to keep disruptions to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area whilst the road improvements are being carried out.

With all work of this nature extreme weather can impact on the completion date. DRD will advise the public of any unexpected change to the schedule.
