Harvest Markets

Markets are a local tradition so it’s only natural that month-long focus on food includes a selection of popular markets. The borough’s weekly and monthly markets will run as normal during the period while a number of special markets will also take place…

It starts with a Harvest Market in Bangor’s McKee Clock arena on Saturday 26 September, followed by a special Harvest Comber Farmers’ Market on Thursday 1 October. Then it’s back to Bangor for Market Fresh on Saturday 10 October, while Newtownards hosts another Harvest Market in Conway Square on Saturday 17 October.

All will feature locally sourced seafood, fruit, vegetables, freshly baked bread, and some wonderful artisan stalls that will let you stock up on delicious goods from the area.

Foodie Experiences

A number of foodie experiences will be held in Donaghadee on Thursday 8 October (7pm). Four of the town’s fantastic restaurants will each offer a three-course culinary delight produced using local ingredients, offering a flavour of the very best Ulster-Scots foodie traditions. Guests will experience the culture and character of the area, with an interval act providing music and tales between each course. Tickets are priced from £35 per person and must be booked in advance.

Don’t forget…

Pre-booking for all foodie experiences and showcases is essential. These events are for over 18s only and full terms and conditions can be found on the website.

A number of local restaurants are promoting some special dishes for ‘local dish month’ so there is plenty to keep those food cravings satisfied. Take your pick from a range of foodie experiences and book your tickets online at:
