Sinn Féin South Down MLA Caitríona Ruane has welcomed the visit of Finance Minister Maírtín Ó Muilleoir to Warrenpoint on Friday (June 17) to meet with the Narrow Water Bridge community network.
Ms Ruane, who had invited the Minister to visit the bridge site, said she was delighted that he was able to meet the group so early in his term.
She said: “The group made a presentation to the Minister about the strategic importance of the Narrow Water Bridge to tourism and the economy of South Down and North Louth. He was informed about the strong support for the project throughout the area and how long we have been campaigning for the bridge.
“I would like to thank the Minister for his comments in support of the bridge to date and we look forward to working with him, his executive colleagues and the government in the South to ensure this project is delivered.”
