Farry Congratulates Southern Regional College On Achieving Erasmus+ Mobility Charter

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has congratulated Southern Regional College (SRC) for its success in being awarded the prestigious Erasmus+ Vocational Education and Training (VET) Charter.

dn_screenMinister Farry said: “The Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter recognises the College’s excellent track record with international projects and also sets a standard for international activity that other learning providers should follow.

“I have underlined the importance of international student placements, and building networks across Europe and beyond, in the Department’s Apprenticeship and Youth Training Strategies and also as part of the current consultation on the new Further Education Strategy. Providing international experience for our students, who are our future workforce, will be a key element to the future growth of our local economy.”

The 2015 Erasmus+ VET Charter is the first of a series of announcements by the European Union this year. Organisations with a strong track record in organising VET mobility projects for learners and staff through the former Lifelong Learning Programme and Erasmus+ are eligible to apply. The aims of the VET Mobility Charter are to reward, promote and further develop quality in transnational VET mobility.
