‘Telling Stories’ by David McClelland andxa0’Drawings and Woodcuts’ by Connor Maguire will be open to the public for viewing from Friday 15 May until Saturday 30 May 2015 during opening hours at the Down Arts centre.

David McClelland is a professional illustrator who lives and works in Belfast.xa0Throughout his 12-year career as a freelance illustrator, David has created a diversexa0portfolio of work ranging from large scale urban artworks across Ireland to comics that deal with the serious and often hidden subjects of loss and self-image.

Connor Maguire is currently focusing on portraiture, working in oils and closely studying the human form. He is also using mediums such as charcoal and graphite and so he is really enjoying rediscovering the simplistic principles of art using pencil and paper. Two basic instruments, but if used correctly they can produce works much more powerful than that of any painting.
