The programme aims to give up to 90 young people aged 11 to 15 years from Darragh Cross, Crossgar, Clough, Dundrum, Ardglass and Killough an opportunity to take part in various sporting activities. These will be facilitated by Crossfit, Downpatrick; Mourne Archery Centre, Maghera; East Down Boxing Club, Crossgar and Grassroots Football.

The final night will be a celebration night whereby those involved will compete in a Soccer Tournament and receive a reward for attending. The participants will also receive information from ASCERT on the effects of alcohol and the PSNI will offer advice on anti-social behaviour and bullying/cyberbullying.

Chairman of PCSP, Councillor William Dick said: “This is an excellent opportunity whereby local young people will have fun experiencing a range of different sports whilst working together on key safety issues such as internet safety. This is the first time this type of partnership, with such a variety of facilitators, has taken place.”

This is a one-off programme which is provided free-of-charge, including transport to and from the particular venues. Places are very limited and will be offered of a first come, first served basis so don’t delay.

Register with the PCSP on 028 4461 0857.
