Sinn Féin MLA Sinéad Ennis launches survey to hear directly from sea swimmers in South Down

South Down MLA Sinéad Ennis said she wants to find out from across the constituency what she and her party can do to help enhance facilities and improve people’s sea swimming experience.

Speaking following the launch of the survey, Ms Ennis said: “The survey seeks to understand the specific needs of sea swimmers and to identify ways to improve facilities and overall provisions.xa0

“With the stunning coastline of South Down serving as a natural playground for sea swimmers, it has become increasingly important to ensure the needs of this local group in our community are being met.xa0

South Down MLA Sinéad Ennis has opened up a survey asking all sea swimmers along the South Down coast to comment on their sea swimming experiences.

“A regular sea swimmer myself, I enjoy going to Sandy Bottom in Warrenpoint with my young children, and no doubt the benefits of open water swimming cannot be denied.

“Proven to better mental and physical health and help to connect local communities, it is clear why it’s so important that facilities are appropriate for all.xa0

“I want to work closely with groups and individuals who enjoy open water swimming and help deliver an environment that encourages more to get involved.

“By launching this sea swimming survey, I hope to gain valuable feedback that will help us deliver a better sea swimming experience for people in South Down.

“The survey is now open, and I invite all sea swimmers, residents, and organisations in South Down to contribute their views.
