Celebrate Horrible Histories with Gruesome Grub at The Parson’s Nose

The Parson’s Nose in Hillsborough, County Down, has announced a gruesome new menu of terrible treats as the Vile Victorians and Gorgeous Georgians arrive at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens.

To celebrate Horrible Histories bringing the past to life this summer – with all the grisly bits left in – the award-winning gastro pub has created its special children’s menu for the horrid happenings to continue after visiting the Castle.

From 10–14th August 2019, children will be able to choose from a ghastly menu of pizzas at The Parsons Nose. Horrible Histories inspired flavours and toppings will include Monstrous Margarita and Petrifying Pepperoni Pizzas, making terrible (but secretly tasty!) treats.

A no-brainer! check out the Parson’s Nose restaurant in Hillsborough during the Horrible Histories.

For those who show their Hillsborough Castle and Gardens Horrible Histories ticket, children will also be treated to free gory, gooey ice cream with gruesome toppings.

Ronan Sweeney, Managing Director of Balloo Inns said: “At The Parson’s Nose, we are really excited for all the fun that Horrible Histories will bring to Hillsborough, not to mention all the gruesome history details!

“To celebrate, our fantastic chefs have created a truly horrible, inspiring menu filled with gruesome grub for children to enjoy. With our family-friendly menu and such as great event taking place at the Castle, it really is a full day of fun for all the family in Hillsborough.”

Alongside the Horrible Histories menu, adults will be able to enjoy authentic pub grub classics, dry–aged steaks and succulent seafood as part of the wider Parson’s Nose menu. Dishes on both the Horrible Histories and classic menus always use fresh, seasonal and local produce.
