Elite Fitness Launches Cancer Charity Challenge

Elite Fitness in Newcastle have teamed up with Cancer Focus Northern Ireland for a six week health and fitness challenge to help you kick-start a healthy lifestyle before the summer – and to raise vital funds to support local cancer patients.

David Rice, gym owner, said: “We are really excited to have joined forces with our local cancer charity, Cancer Focus NI. The charity has a very active cancer prevention team, encouraging people of all ages to adopt a healthier lifestyle, so this is a perfect fit for us.

“The Focus Fit challenge is designed to create a healthy change in your life with full support and advice on fitness and healthy eating. It’s suitable for people aged from 18 and we will take on anyone from fitness fanatics to keep fit beginners.

“Over the six weeks we will work hard to help you become healthier and fitter by providing three free professional training sessions per week, under the supervision of Fitness Factory staff, including nutritional advice to help you make those healthier choices to carry through to the future.”

Joanne Smith, Community Fundraising Officer, Cancer Focus NI, said: “We are so excited to bring our Focus Fit programme to Newcastle and the surrounding areas.xa0 Cancer Focus NI wants to help you take positive steps towards a healthier lifestyle to lower the risk of cancer.xa0Focus Fit not only spreads our message but also helps us raise vital funds for local cancer patients and their families.

“We’ve run Focus Fit in other towns across Northern Ireland and there have been amazing results and lots of money raised. I’m sure we will see similarly fantastic results in Newcastle! This challenge caters for anyone who wants to kick-start their health transformation just in time for summer.

“The challenge is FREE to sign up to and we ask participants to raise as much through sponsorship as they can for Cancer Focus NI. All the money you raise will be spent on the services we provide in the local community.”

The Focus Fit Newcastle Challenge will kick off with an induction on Monday 12th March 2018 at Elite Fitness, Newcastle (21C Dundrum Road, Newcastle, BT33 0BQ). Cancer Focus NI is asking anyone who’d like to take part to get in touch before the registration deadline on Friday 9th March.
