Elderly Man Robbed And Assaulted Outside Downpatrick Chapel

dn_screenDetectives in Downpatrick are appealing for information following a robbery in the St Patrick’s Avenue area of the town on xa025 January.

Detective Inspector Debbie Eakin explained: “At approximately 7.30pm, a 72-year-old male was beside the wall of St Patrick’s Church when we was approached by a male in his twenties who pushed him over and stole his wallet.

“The elderly man sustained a cut to his head as a result.

“We are investigating and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity to contact us at Downpatrick Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Alternatively, information about crime can be passed to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by telephoning 0800 555 111.
