Downpatrick Police Appeal Following Break In

Detectives in Downpatrick are appealing for information following a burglary in the Brackenridge area of the town during which a number of items, including model cars, were stolen.

dn_screenDetective Inspector Debbie Eakin explained: “Sometime between the end of October and November 8th, a house in the area was entered while the owner was on holiday. A number of items were stolen including three Franklin Mint Precision model cars. The cars are a Black Bentley Mark VI 1947, scale 1:24 with a removable roof, a cream Rolls-Royce Corniche IV 1992 (Silver Spur), scale 1:24, and a Rolls-Royce 1907 ‘The Silver Ghost’ Connoisseurs Series, scale 1:12.

“Two digital cameras, a television, a decanter and a china piggy bank with two pound coins were also stolen from the house and a Qualcast petrol strimmer was stolen from the shed.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who noticed any suspicious activity, or anyone who is offered similar items in suspicious circumstances, to contact local police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information can be passed to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by telephoning 0800 555 111.”
