MEMBERS of Downpatrick Lions Club gathered to give their support and sign a petition to retain the A & E Department full-time at Downe Hospital.
The Lions have a long connection with Downe Hospital, as they funded the first Cardiac/accident ambulance for Downpatrick in 1974. This was the first ambulance of its type in Northern Ireland and gave Downe Hospital a ground-breaking facility.

The Downpatrick Lions have signed the petition for a full 24/7 cover at the Downe Hospital.[/caption]xa0There will be a public meeting (TONIGHT) in the main hall at the St Patrick’s High School in Downpatrick at 7.30pm 20th February held by the Down Community Health Committee.
