Downpatrick FC Notes For Week Beginning 16 September 2018

The ladies finished their season off in style when they comprehensively beat Crewe United last Wednesday night to gain promotion to the NIWFA Championship by a score-line of 5 – 1. Downpatrick’s goal scorers were Aisling Flynn with a hat-trick and Morgan Shannon with two goals.

This first team have no game this Saturday due to cup competitions.

The under 19’s had a game on Monday night against Ashton Gate but fell to defeat on a score line of 5 – 3, Eoin Rooney scored a hat-trick. At the time of writing they don’t have a game on Saturday.

The Downpatrick U-15’s team.

The under 17’s played Apex Sky Blues in an entertaining game in Dunleath with the game finishing 4 – 4, Downpatrick’s goals coming from Colin Jones and Connor Rogan both grabbing two goals apiece. This Saturday they play Saintfield United in Loughmoss at 11.00am.

The under 15’s got their season off to a winning start on Saturday morning when they defeated Coney Island two nil. Downpatrick’s goals were scored by Peter Carberry and Lewis Green. This Saturday they play Celtic Bhoys in Dunleath at 10.50am.

The under 13’s played Banbridge Town last Saturday morning in Dromore in the league, although falling to a four nil defeat they put in a much improved performance. This Saturday they play Hillsborough Colts at Barbour Playing Fields with a 9.30am kick off.

The 2007 age group play Cliftonville on Saturday morning at Belvior BB 3G Pitch, this match kicks off at 9.00am.

The 2008 age got their first win of the season on Saturday morning when they defeated St Marys, the goals were scored by Leo Madine (hat-trick), Ben Shaw, Fionn Fennel and Oliver Crawford. This week they play Dromara Colts at 11.00am in Belvior BB 3G pitch.

Our Mini Soccer training continues on Monday night 24 September from 6.00pm – 7.00pm at St Dillon’s Avenue pitch (Please note earlier time). This training is for children born in the following years 2009, 2010 & 2011. Players are asked to dress for the weather, wear football boots and shin guards. All old and new players are welcome.
