Downpatrick East Down AC Runner Performs Well In Firmus Energy Super Six

Despite the showery weather that met the third event of the firmus energy Super Six , around 150 young people turned out at the at the Mary Peters track in Belfast to take part in a variety of athletics activities including Down athlete James Smyth from East Down Athletic Club who came first in the Boys’ Under 17 3000 metres.

Organised by Lagan Valley Athletics Club and supported by firmus energy, the next Super Six event will take place on Thursday 18 June from 6.30pm. There will be no activities for the ‘minis’ category in this particular meet but it will include relay races and hurdles as well as the javelin, shot put and long jump for older age groups.

The firmus energy Super Six is open to people of all abilities including those who want to come out and try the sport for the first time through to serious competitors.
