Downpatrick Bowling Club Win Over Mossley

The first rink skippered by Patrick Rooney beat Mossely’s Tom Back rink by 19 points to 12. This was a xa0convincing win by Downpatrick. [caption id="attachment_25655" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Derek McCann bowling for Downpatrick against Mossley in the Private Greens Junior 1 section."][/caption] Rink two led by Kieran McMullan also played very strongly with a resounding victory at 32 points over the 8 of J Kelly’s Mossley rink. But is was not all plain sailing as Marcus Smyth’s rink met stiff opposition from the R Cambleton four losing 11-18. It was then up to the the last Derek McCann skippered fourth Downpatrick rink to win the day and they returned an accomplished 39 points, the highest score for the home team on the day. Mossley could only gather up 12 points in the face of such eagle-eyed opposition. Downpatrick finished with 101 points to Mossley’s 50, and won 6-1 overall.]]>
