The Downe Hospital District Nursing Team make a generous donation to Fountain Foodbank

The District Nursing Team based at the Downe Hospital has shown continued commitment to supporting the local community by making a generous donation of £150 to a local foodbank in Downpatrick.

The donation to Fountain Foodbank will go towards helping individuals and families in the local area who are experiencing financial hardship, particularly during these challenging times.

Speaking about the gesture, District Nursing Sister, Leonie McManus said: “I am proud of my team who generously donated a collection of food and essentials to the local foodbank here in Downpatrick.

“We collected £150 and we did a supermarket shopping session to support the foodbank as well.

“We are a team of community-based District Nurses and we wanted to give something back to the local community.”
