DOWN U-14 SKILLS COMPETITION 2011

DOWN U-14 SKILLS COMPETITION 2011 Down GAA Youth Development Oficer Sean McCashin has reported that the U-14 Skills Competition will take place next Saturday 7th May in The Abbey Grammar School Newry as part of the Feile Football Finals. The U-14 Skill Competition this year is being run in a different format and unlike previous years will take place on one day and not at various championship match’s – this day is next Saturday 7th May 2011. The overall winner will also be able to represent Down at the National Feile Skills Finals which will take place this year in Cork. National Feile will be held in Cork on the Thursday 30th June/ Friday and Saturday 1st & 2nd July 2011.  The parade will take place through Cork City on Thursday evening 30th June and all the finals on Saturday 2nd July 2011 The Skills Competition is open to all Clubs in the County and each club is allowed to enter a maximum of three U-14 Players. All Players entering the Skill Competition will have to be at the Feile Venue (Venue to be confirmed Monday) at 11.30am to register. At least 1 adult mentor should accompany the Skills participants. It should be noted the actual Feile competition starts 10.00am. If your Club is going to enter participants to the 2011 U14 Skills Competition can you please forward their names to me by Thursday evening via email: youthofficer.down@gaa.ie
