Down Ladies Report.

SENIOR.

Down senior ladies hosted Louth at the Abbey CBS Newry on Sunday morning in an entertaining challenge game.

Played in very windy conditions, both sides struggled initially to find a rhythm, before Down ran off 4 points in quick succession and reached half time leading 08-02.

Facing into the wind in the second half Down defended magnificently and counter attacked at speed, to run out worthy winners on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-05.

This was an excellent all round team performance against a tough Louth side.

Many thanks to Louth for travelling to Newry. Senior preseason continues with a challenge game on Wednesday against St Marys in Belfast, before returning to training at the Abbey on Friday night and Sunday morning! Well done girls!

MINOR – BORN 2001/2002 ONLY
The girls travelled to Kildress in Tyrone for a challenge game. With a heavy wind, the girls found it tough to break down a well organised Tyrone defensive set up. With some great passages of play, they got themselves back in the game but couldn’t get enough scores to get that win. Well done girls!

U16 – BORN 2003 ONLY
The girls got back in to action with a pitch session on Saturday in Annsborough. This Wednesday will see the start of the indoor sessions, then back out for on the pitch in St Malachys Castlewellan next Saturday. Good luck to all those playing for their schools this week as well as those doing exams!

U15 – BORN 2004 ONLY
The girls continue their preparations for the Ulster League with a trip to Dublin on Saturday. Bus times will be notified during the week.

U14 – BORN 2005 ONLY
Well done to the girls that made it to Saturdays morning session. Hard work, skills and fun in abundance. Speedy recoveries to the girls currently sick or injured and we look forward to seeing everyone next week.
