The 2023 Nose of Tralee Final has arrived.

The most pawsome competition of the year is in full swing – and now it’s time for the 2023 Nose of Tralee finals!

Our panel of judges have been hard at work, carefully handpicking the crème de la crème of noses – all 32 of them – to proudly represent their home counties and show off their sniff-tastic skills.

There are 27 tail-wagging dogs and 5 fabulous felines ready to strut their stuff and battle it out for the grand title of the 2023 Nose of Tralee.

Mina the Cat from County Down is aiming to win the Nose of Tralee contest this year and tell those dogs where to get off!

But here’s the twist: the power is in YOUR hands as a final round of voting kicks off.

Mina lives in Edenderry village South Belfast with her owner Clare O’Neill. The eight year old tabby has a huge personality.

“Clare said: “Mina is a native of Banbridge, born and bred in Down. She’s very affectionate, and even sleeps with me at night.

“Mina is quite a small cat, looking a bit like a kitten, but she is probably the runt of the litter. But she’s feisty, and get involved in the odd scrap with other local cats.

“She definitely has a nose for food. If I open a tin of tuna she has to eat some of it. That’s her favourite! She has a nose for quality food!

“If I just take out the can opener she is in alert mode thinking she is getting fed. She’s quite a character… from catching spiders to climbing trees she always on the go.

“And when she comes in wet from the rain she let’s me towel her down. She loves getting pampered. We just love her to bits!”

So far, a cat has not won the Nose of Tralee contest. But will Mina power through and nose out the votes to get the winners’s ribbon around her neck ? Clare certainly hopes so.
