Down Businesses Can Reach For The Stars

Reach for the stars.

Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit is searching for the most innovative new food and drink products in Ireland.

Are you new to the food and drink industry? Do you want to get your product noticed by the top decision makers in Ireland’s retailing sector? Then Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit wants to hear your best elevator pitch!

In recent years, there have been a number of excellent new food and drink products launched by local County Down entrepreneurs from chocolate and butter products, farm produce, to succulent specialised breeds of farm animals and ready for the table meals and much more, not to mention the diverse range of beer, cider, gin and whisky producers now woo-ing our palletes.

Abernethy Butter from Dromara is one of the many successful food products from County Down.

Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit is offering three standout Irish start-ups the chance to present their products to hundreds of retail executives on-stage at Ireland’s leading retail conference.

The Summit organisers want to hear from exciting entrepreneurs who are currently launching pioneering new food and drink products into the marketplace.

Hopefuls are invited to submit details of their business venture online at forecourtretailer.com and the successful candidates will be announced September 12, 2018.

The three companies chosen will be allocated five minutes each at Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit to demonstrate why their lines should be stocked on shelves all over the country.

2018’s Summit is supported by a national media campaign and the three start-ups to impress the judges the most will be awarded extensive coverage in Ireland’s Forecourt & Convenience Retailer magazine as well as well as the organisation’s website and social media channels before and after the Summit.

Taking place September 19, 2018 at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road Dublin, Ireland’s Convenience Retailer Summit is the annual focal point of the retailing calendar attended by over 450 retail industry professionals.

Andrew Boyd of Kilmegan Cider produced in Dundrum at a local fair promoting his brand.

A three-fold occasion, 2018’s Summit features a unique conference with a first-class line up of international speakers, a trade exhibition with over 50 market leading brands, and an annual glittering gala awards ceremony.

Summit organiser, Bill Penton said: “The theme of 2018’s Summit is ‘Going for Growth in Convenience’ and we want to find innovative entrepreneurs who wish to grow their business on a national and even global scale.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of the retailing sector in Ireland with massive change and development happening across the country. Buyers are constantly looking for new products to capture the attention of the convenience market and we hope to find three companies that will dazzle our Summit delegates.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for any new Irish business to get their brand noticed by the leading players in the convenience, symbol, independent, and multiple sectors.  We are delighted to be able to give back to the retailing community and look forward to uncovering the latest talent in the marketplace.”

Building on a track record of success, 2018’s Summit is set to be another inspirational day for all retailers across Ireland.
