Cllr Doran said:xa0“In the early hours ofxa0Tuesdayxa0morning thieves were disturbed as they attempted to burgle a garage on the Newry Road in Kilkeel. This is a business run by a hard working family who not only provide a service to the community but also provide employment to local people. For these thieves to attempt to damage and rob this property in such a way is completely disgraceful.

“This incident comes just a couple of weeks after an assault and robbery in the Annalong area and a number of other attempted burglaries in the wider South Down area. As a member of the PCSP I will be bringing my concerns to the PSNI with a view to apprehending these individuals as soon as possible. Anyone with any information regarding this act should report it immediately to the police.”
