Don't Miss The Public Information Day On Downpatrick Transport Plans In Down Arts Centre

An information day on proposals to address traffic management issues in Downpatrick town centre will be held on Wednesday 28 October in the Down Arts Centre,xa02-6 Irish Street, Downpatrick from 9.30am 4.00pm.

This information day will be an opportunity to see detailed plans showing the extent of the proposals and to discuss the plans with staff from TransportNI.

The proposals on display will include:

* xa0Collins Corner – junction improvement. * xa0Fountain Street – road improvement. * xa0one way traffic system for Edward Street, St Dillon’s Avenue and John Street * xa0one way traffic system for Market Street, Irish Street and St Patrick’s Avenue * xa0potential new link road from Irish Street to St Patrick’s Avenue though the PSNI site * xa0Park and Ride proposals

A spokesperson for DRD said:

“There has been considerable interest in proposals to manage traffic issues in Downpatrick. The information day provides an opportunity for the public to see the plans that have been developed and discuss any issues they may have with TransportNI staff.”

“The delivery of any of the proposed measures will be subject to the satisfactory completion of consultation, legislation and availability of the necessary land and funds.”

Plans will also be available to view in the foyer of Rathkeltair House, Market Street, Downpatrick from 29 October to 12 November 2015.
