Cllr Devlin said:” Following the very welcome news from Minister Mallon that a contractor has now been appointed to deliver the much needed Shimna River Flood Alleviation Scheme, the contactor Dawson WAM is to hold a public information event in the car-park at Islands Park this Thursday between 3pm and 7pm.

“The Contractor’s team will be there to answer any questions you may have about this scheme and its completion.

“So if you have been affected by the devastating floods and want to speak directly to those tasked with the scheme, please do come along. However, if you are unable to make it and require any further detail, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I will do my best to source answers to your questions.

“We all know how much this scheme is needed so to see an event such as this and a start date is such an important step,” added Cllr Devlin.
