DCAL Releases Statistics On Volunteering In Culture And Arts

dn_screenThe Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL) today released figures on volunteering in culture and arts by adults in Northern Ireland in 2013/14.

Main findings:

* xa0Just over one in ten adults (11%) had volunteered in culture and arts within the last year while less than one in every twenty adults (4%) had ever volunteered at a major culture or arts event.

* xa0About two-fifths of volunteers carried out fundraising roles, while around one fifth were involved in teaching and event management. More than four-fifths of culture and arts volunteers (83%) stated that having fun/ enjoyment was a benefit of volunteering in culture and arts.
