DCAL Releases Statistics On Volunteering In Culture And Arts
The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL) today released figures on volunteering in culture and arts by adults in Northern Ireland in 2013/14.
Main findings:
* xa0Just over one in ten adults (11%) had volunteered in culture and arts within the last year while less than one in every twenty adults (4%) had ever volunteered at a major culture or arts event.
* xa0About two-fifths of volunteers carried out fundraising roles, while around one fifth were involved in teaching and event management. More than four-fifths of culture and arts volunteers (83%) stated that having fun/ enjoyment was a benefit of volunteering in culture and arts.
