Auditions open for TG4’s Glór Tíre as hit Country music series prepares for 21 years on air.
Can you hold a note ? Are you a Country and Western fan ? Do you sing the old favourites on a night out ?
The search is on for Ireland’s next Country Music star and it’s on as TG4’s Glór Tíre opens auditions for the show’s landmark 21st season.
The long-running series returns to TV screens in March and April 2025 where eight emerging Country & Irish singers will compete for the coveted title of Ireland’s Glór Tíre Country Music Champion.
The show, produced by County Galway-based company Gael Media, first began broadcasting on TG4 in 2004. It is widely recognised as an important platform for new talent, and held in high regard by audiences and established artists as a vital force in sustaining Irish Country music.
Glór Tíre is inviting new and emerging Country and Irish singers to audition for the 21st season, which begins recording in Connemara, Co Galway, in January 2025.
The show will be presented by Aoife Ní Thuairsig. Resident judges Jó Ní Chéide and Caitriona Ní Shuilleabháin will be joined by guest judges, while the series mentors will be drawn from leading names in Irish Country music.

Entrants must be over 18 as of 1 December 2024 and must not be under contract to a manager or management agency. The deadline for entries is midday on Monday 23rd December. No entries will be accepted after this.
All entries will be uploaded onto a YouTube channel and shared with the Glór Tíre mentors who will choose their contestant from the entries received. Videos must be in a format which can be downloaded or viewed on YouTube. Videos or applications through any other social media platforms, will not be accepted.
By applying to take part in the series, entrants give permission for their video and contact details to be shared with the production team, mentors, and any other persons necessary for the production of the series.
The entered video may also be used in future promotion or advertising of the series.
Successful entrants must make themselves available for all of the recording dates, as well as any promotional, or behind-the-scenes days, deemed necessary by the production company.
