Cummran PS Teachers And Staff Send Message To Pupils

The Teachers and Staff of Cummran Primary have came up with a novel way to emphasise the ‘Stay Home’ message to pupils.

They have been utilising the online, home schooling app ‘Seesaw’.

Their fun but serious graphic was uploaded to the app and social media. #Cumran️ Stay home for the people you love. Be kind. Hard times don’t last forever. After every storm comes a rainbow. Let’s flatten the curve. Stay safe everyone!️

The teachers and staff at Cummran Primary School send a message to their pupils who they are missing.

Principal Rhonda Moles said: “This is really a message for everyone. It is in times like these when we suddenly realise how wonderful normal life actually was.

“With children and staff working from home, it is that face-to-face contact we all miss and those special working relationships we have with our pupils and colleagues.

“The staff at Cumran Primary School have missed their pupils and wanted to send out a personal message to each child and family in our school and local community. They wanted to send out a message of encouragement whilst reminding them of the safety precautions they need to take, to keep those they love safe.

“Each member of staff contributed a word and with the magic of digital technology, this led to the resulting image which we would like to share with you all.”

Ulster Unionist Slieve Croob Councillor Alan Lewis praised the teachers for thinking about their pupils and said: ” I’d like to congratulate them on the fantastic work they are doing! The building is closed, but Cumran is ‘OPEN‘… children are engaged with online learning.

The principal, teachers and staff are a credit to our village and district.

“These are difficult times, and parents are rightly concerned about their child’s education and their welfare. It is important that learning and development continues.

“This collage although fun has a more serious message. It encourages our children to stay at home and stay safe.

“It has been difficult for children to understand why they can’t visit relatives, friends or places of activity and fun. I commend the teachers for helping them to understand our collective responsibility.

“Stay Home, Stay safe safe, save lives.”
