Cllr Clarke said: “I visited the area and there have been mattresses, carpets and a cooker dumped in this area, I have contacted the Newry Mourne and Down Council Environmental Health Department to carry out an investigation into who is responsible and to have the area cleared, I have been involved with the local community in a number of community clean ups in this area, and it is truly shocking the total disregard some people have for the community.”

Cllr Clarke added:xa0“Sinn Féin is concerned not only about the environmental damage being done here but the long term health of local residents due to this indiscriminate fly tipping by people who have a total disregard for the community”.
