Councillor Willie Clarke Calls For Lighting Improvements At Castle Park In Newcastle

Mourne’s Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke has urged Newry Mourne and Down Council to repair the fault to a number of street lighting columns in Castle Park, Newcastle.

Cllr Clarke said:  “A number of residents have been in contact with me expressing their concerns in relation to how dark the car park is in Castle Park, Newcastle. I have spoken to Officers in Newry Mourne and Down Council to request that the problem is resolved as quickly as possible.”

“During my discussions with Council officers, I emphasised the point that Castle Park has a large number of both pedestrians making use of the the River walkway and many business owners and staff who use this car park, the location is also used by citizens accessing leisure, retail and library services in Newcastle .

“The darkness of the Castle Park area is causing a major inconvenience for them. I will continue to lobby to have them the lighting columns repaired as soon as possible.”
