Council Telephone Numbers to Change from 24 January 2020

New telephone numbers for Newry Mourne and Down District Council are coming soon.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is announcing new telephone numbers from 24 January 2020 to make it easier for residents across the district to get in touch with the services they need.

All existing telephone numbers will start to change from this date including the Council’s main contact number, which will change to 0330 137 4000. New service numbers will also be introduced through January and February. We are currently implementing a public awareness campaign, ‘A New Way to Say Hello’, to help keep residents across the district informed of the key changes.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said, “We all look forward to experiencing the benefits of working with this new telephone system, it will contribute to an improved customer service experience for residents across the district and make our service delivery more convenient and efficient.”

From Friday 24 January 2020, residents can contact the following key services directly:

Building Control 0330 137 4003.

Dog Licensing 0330 137 4013.

Finance 0330 137 4022.

Health and Wellbeing 0330 137 4024.

Human Resources   0330 137 4025.

Leisure Indoor (Leisure Centres) 0330 137 4026.

Planning 0330 137 4036.

Registration (Births, Deaths, Marriages) 0330 137 404.

Sports, Health and Outdoor Recreation 0330 137 4044.

Waste and Enforcement (Bins, HRC, Fleet, Enforcement) 0330 137 4047.

Cllr Charlie Casey added: “We are asking members of the public to not phone the numbers listed above before Friday 24 January 2020 as they will not be active. During the transition period there may be some disruption to the telephony service and it may take a bit longer to connect.  We ask that members of public be patient and to bear with us during this time.”
