Council Offers £20,000 Sports Funding

Ards Borough Council is offering total funding of £20,000 to local sports clubs towards facilities and equipment.

Part of a wider funding scheme, the first round of tranche provided local sports clubs with £10,000 of funding earlier this year, with this second chance offering those who didn’t apply them a second chance to sign up.

dn_screenAmateur sports clubs in the Ards Borough, whose sport is recognised by Sports Northern Ireland, can receive grants of up to £5,000 towards capital expenditure.

Emma Hingston, Sports Development Officer for Ards Borough Council, is encouraging local clubs to get their applications in and avail of the funding. She said:xa0“Ards Borough Council’s capital grants funding is a great way for sports clubs to access money to enhance and improve their facilities or buy much needed new equipment and I would urge all local clubs to consider how they could use this sort of money to develop their organisation.”

The second round of Capital Grants Sports Funding is now open, offering £10,000 total funding. Applications must be received by Friday 14th November 2014.
