“All representatives believe that everyone should have a great home and together we are seeking opportunities to make homes available to the families that need them. We are all conscious of the significant housing need in Newry City and are looking for ways of encouraging development opportunities that will help provide more much needed homes.”

Group Director of Development at Clanmil Housing Group, Carol McTaggart, said: “Clanmil Housing Group plans to start work on the construction of twenty new homes at Downpatrick Street, Crossgar in late spring and has started the first phase of 37 units at the former Downe Hospital site in Downpatrick.  It also has 16 units under construction on Main Street Dundrum.

“Together, the three developments will provide a total of 141 new homes for rent by people on the housing waiting list. These homes are part of ambitious growth plans that will see Clanmil Housing Group deliver 1200 new homes throughout Northern Ireland over the next three years.”

Clanmil Housing Group has around 250 homes in its stock at present in the Newry Mourne and Down Council area.
