Consultation on Cattle Traceability Launched

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) has launched a consultation seeking views on a number of proposed changes to the cattle traceability system.

The main proposal is to allow registered agents to notify information on cattle births, movements and deaths to DARD on a keeper’s behalf.

The proposals also include a requirement to notify lost or stray cattle to DARD.

The consultation will close on 28 September 2012 and copies of the consultation documents are available on the DARD website at http://www.dardni.gov.uk/consultations-cattle-irm.
