Collins Aerospace Raises Over £25,000 For Charities

Collins Aerospace Flying High with £25K Fundraising Target

Collins Aerospace, based in Kilkeel, is a company used to designing, manufacturing and servicing systems for a range of aircraft but the company completed a very different project and raised a massive £25,784.06 for two wonderful local charities in 2019.

The company raised the monies by taking part in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year. These activities included coffee mornings, an Easter quiz, running a marathon, a golf charity day, a sponsored abseil, Blitzen’s 5K run and various Christmas activities including the renowned Christmas Jumper Day.

Speaking about their fundraising efforts, Managing Director at Collins Aerospace Kilkeel, Stuart McKee said, “Both charities, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust are two fantastic organisations that provide an outstanding, caring and supportive service during a time of need for many families.

“We were delighted to help with our employees, once again, coming together as a team to raise much needed funds. I am very proud of the Collins Aerospace Kilkeel team and how they’ve raised monies for these very worthwhile causes, this amount and the various activities completed have been just amazing. I truly hope that many people will benefit from our donation.”

Fiona McCann, Corporate Fundraiser at Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice said: “We are indebted to Collins Aerospace Kilkeel for their generous donation of over £12,500.xa0I want to say a huge thank you, as this outstanding donation will help the Hospice to continue to provide vital care to babies and children across Northern Ireland living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.”

Colin Bell of The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust said: “This donation of over £12,500 will make a real difference to bereaved families facing financial hardship when repatriating the body of their loved one from abroad. The Trust is very grateful to the Collins Aerospace team, this is a fantastic amount so, thank you.”
