Coade Calls For More To Be Done Over PPE Concerns

Newry and Armagh Alliance representative Jackie Coade has asked for more to be done to ensure that NHS workers have the right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Jackie Coade, Newry area Alliance representative is calling for PPE to be supplied at the right levels for staff safety.

Ms Coade said: “We need to ensure that our frontline NHS staff have the right PPE and to ensure that they have enough stock to see them through this tough time.

“With a high influx of people attending Hospital already with potential Covid 19, and the worst yet to come, it is essential that these workers do not run out of PPE. However, this is right across the board with Ambulance Service staff and Domiciliary Care workers.

“As NHS staff follow the right infection control protocols, it stands to reason that after every patient or every treatment their PPE is disposed of right away. With a high risk in regards to infection control relating to Covid 19 we need to make sure that PPE stocks do not deplete as a result of the crisis.

“I want to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful NHS staff, in every job, for the amazing work they have been doing. They truly are exceptional at what they do. From the bottom of my heart I want to express my gratitude for their amazing work.”
