Councillor Clarke said : “A number of water guilles were completely blocked and overgrown along the grass verge, which resulted during heavy rain in excess water lying on the stretch of footpath adjacent to St. Donard’s Church of Ireland Church along Main Street.”

“Following representations to DRD Road Service about the blocked gullies in question, it has been confirmed the water guilles have now been identified during an inspection and they have instructed their works branch team to manually clean the gullies.

“The drainage system will also be jetted in order to leave the water guilles clear and returned to working order.”
