Celebrate World Toilet Day And Toilets For All

World Toilet Day

World Toilet Day, celebrated on 19th November every year, is about inspiring action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and help achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which promises sanitation for all by 2030. This year’s theme is Leave No One Behind.

This year, NI Water supports WaterAid to show that a toilet is not just a toilet; it’s a life-saver, dignity-protector and opportunity-maker. We encourage everyone to imagine daily life for the 2 billion people without a decent toilet and to ask how anyone could lift themselves out of poverty without sanitation. We remind the international community that we must leave no one behind as we build more toilets, because whoever you are, wherever you are, sanitation is your human right.

NI Water is proud to support the work of the international charity WaterAid and along with key contractors and suppliers from across the water industry and beyond raise approximately £70,000 per year for the charity. We have dedicated recent funds to a project in Malawi, which aims to improve the health of women, girls and children by providing access to clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene in their communities.

Tuesday 19 November is World Toilet Day and a key moment in the WaterAid calendar.  NI Water is proud to support WaterAid’s vision of a world where everyone, everywhere has access to safe water, decent sanitation and good hygiene.

You can get involved too by donating £1 (or more) to WaterAid to help make the dream of sanitation and hygiene for all a reality. For further information log on to:
