Castlewellan Show gets £3000 Grant from Council

Alliance Party Councillor Patrick Clarke has welcomed Down District Council providing grant funding of £3,000 to Castlewellan and District Agricultural Show.xa0 Agreement to award the grant took place at the recent Culture and Economic Development Committee meeting held earlier in May.

Down District Council has agreed to provide funding totalling just over £26,500 to 20 organisations across the District to help with costs of a variety of tourism related and community festivals.

Councillor Patrick Clarke said:xa0“I welcome the awarding of a tourism related grant by Down District Council of £3,000 to Castlewellan and District Agricultural Show which will take place in Castlewellan Forest Park on Saturday 13th July and deemed to be the biggest agriculture show in Northern Ireland after Balmoral Showxa0over 1000 exhibitors and 12,000-15,000 visitors.

“The Castlewellan & District Agricultural Show showcases the very best of agricultural and rural pursuits each year from all over Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.”
