Castlewellan GAC Notes For 1st February 2016

dn_screenThe Mediterranean is a nice place to be this time of year, in fact if anyone wants to offer me a holiday there any time of the year I will happily oblige. Unfortunately for me I don’t think that will happen. Our Under-16 Camog and Ladies Footballer Megan O’Boyle is going to the sunnier island that of Cyprus but not for a holiday. This multi – talented sports star is heading to compete in the European Karate Championships. Everyone here at the club wishes Megan every success in the competition and hopefully she will come home with some silverware.

The Down GAA draw is with us once again and will commence on Saturday 20 February 2016. The draw will be for 12 months at a cost of £120 per ticket. Information on the draw can be found on the Down GAA website. The benefit for our club is excellent. £96.00 of every ticket sold after the initial 24 goes directly to our club. This is a great way of supporting your club and generate some much needed income. Please contact Brian O’Neill before 10 February 2016 if you wish to purchase a ticket.

We continue in appealing to anyone who may be interested in assisting with juvenile coaching in 2016 please contact John O’Neill on 07711737610. Our Juveniles like in all other clubs are our life blood and what we are all trying to achieve. We need your help we can never have enough coaches and helpers with our under age teams.

Our own Sean Dornan saw a piece of the action last Saturday night in Newry as Down fell heavily to Donegal in what was a tough return to Division 1 National League football life. Well, we all knew it was not going to be easy but we all want to see Down doing well and we all are behind the lads in their efforts. An Dun Abu!
